Happy New Year From Our Jolley Team

We hope that you all had a holly JOLLEY holiday! We love getting to know our patients and their families. This time of year is always so special. Holiday cards start to fill the office and we hear all about your celebration plans. Every excited Christmas wish that is shared with us is a reminder of why we are so dedicated to our patients. Your smiles make us smile.

Heading Into 2022

Man, oh man these last couple of years sure have been weird, right? One of the things that can never change though is our dedication to our patients and our concern and well-wishes for their wellbeing. Our hope for you and your family in 2022 is for health and happiness – and, of course, lots of bright beautiful smiles!

New Year Smile Resolutions

And speaking of bright, beautiful smiles, this is the perfect time of year to set some smile resolutions. Taking care of your braces or aligners isn’t difficult, but it does require a little bit of work to make sure you’re doing your part to make treatment successful. Take a look at our tips for taking care of your teeth and orthodontic appliances, and set some goals for yourself in 2022.

  • Stay away from “no-no” foods that are hard, sticky, or gummy that can damage your braces.

  • Don’t slack on basic oral hygiene. Brush twice a day and/or after meals and be sure to floss at least once a day.

  • Keep up with checkups! Even though you’re probably seeing us pretty often, make sure that you don’t forget your twice-yearly general dentist visits.

  • Follow instructions! This one is a biggie. If Dr. Jolley tells you to wear rubber bands or other orthodontic appliances/accessories, follow instructions exactly.

  • If you play high-impact sports or engage in other activities where it’s possible to injure your mouth, always wear your mouthguard!

  • Stop (or don’t start) chewing on ice, pencils, or hard candies that can damage braces.
